Hear from our learners:

"I found the IEEE Leading Technical Teams program to be very helpful in understanding where I stood with my leadership skills and the areas of opportunity that I could improve on from a development perspective.  Having been an engineering manager in industry as well as an IEEE volunteer leader for many years, it was extremely insightful to get feedback on my leadership behaviors and style using the Leadership Practices Inventory 360° assessment.  IEEE is a trusted source for continuing education and I would highly recommend this training to anyone who is interested in becoming a more effective technical leader."

Dr. Jason K. Hui, Senior Manager of Engineering

Features

Program Features

  • 360° Leadership Practices Inventory: Participants begin by distributing a confidential 360° leadership practices inventory to their team members, peers, and managers. This assessment provides leaders with specific, confidential feedback on their areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. The inventory process is initiated 30 days prior to the live session, allowing ample time for data collection and analysis.
  • Live 6-hour Session: The second part of the program consists of an engaging session where learners receive the results of their 360° leadership practices inventory. In addition, participants participate in interactive learning experiences focused on specific leadership practices. Collaborating with fellow participants, participants can apply these practices to case studies that directly address the unique challenges encountered by technical leaders.
IEEE offers two distinct pathways for individuals and organizations to participate in the IEEE Leading Technical Teams program:
  • Mixed Cohort: For individuals seeking to join the program independently, IEEE facilitates multiple open cohorts throughout the year. Participants can register for a pre-set session, offering flexibility and convenience. Furthermore, the cost of participation can often be covered through a learner's company tuition reimbursement program.
  • Company Cohort: Organizations have the option to assemble a group of 10 or more learners to participate in the program together, at a schedule that aligns with their specific needs and requirements. This tailored approach provides the advantage of a cohesive learning experience, fostering team collaboration and shared growth.
